The Case

Examination

Visual acuity – An objective measurement of Mr Brown’s visual loss (Snellen or LogMAR).


Pupil reactions – A Relative afferent pupillary defect points to an optic nerve or gross & severe retinal pathology.


Visual field to confrontation – Detects neurological or optic nerve pathology.


Colour Vision – With Ishihara plates or red desaturation (red colours appearing washed out/pink). Useful for detecting optic nerve and macular pathology.
