Chapter 1

Oli's Examination

When you examine Oli he is miserable and crying. He is warm centrally with a  capillary refill time of less 2 seconds but slightly cool peripherally with a CRT of 3 seconds. His heart sounds normal, with no murmurs. He has no signs of respiratory distress and his chest is clear. His abdomen is soft and not-distended or tender. Oli’s fontanelle is slightly sunken and his lips look dry. His tone appears normal and there are no abnormal movements.
