Oli makes good progress on the ward. His fever settles over the next 48 hours and he wakes for feeds and mum reports he is feeding better. Oli’s urine grows a pure growth of E. coli. On the ward round, the paediatric consultant feels they can switch Oli’s intravenous antibiotics to oral. He wonders if they need to do any imaging tests on Oli and asks you to check the NICE guidelines.
