Paediatric Early Warning Score

Early Warning Score systems are widely used in adult practice and are becoming increasingly prevalent in the care of children.


You should be aware that because normal values vary with age that age appropriate charts must be used.


The charts are one approach to escalating care in a deteriorating or unwell child but should not replace clinical assessment.
