Complications

A few hours following ward round you are called urgently by the nurse to review Harry, he has not yet had his albumin infusion as it had to be ordered from pharmacy. Harry has become increasingly short of breath. From the end of the bed you can see that he is visibly tachypnoeic with increased work of breathing.


Observations are:

RR:   40 breaths per minute

Sats: 90% in air
